About Marvin

Marvin Nadalutti is a Multimedia Journalist from Udine, Italy.

His Eritrean roots allowed him to explore the Horn of Africa for some time, where the effects of recent conflicts are still visible. The time spent in Eritrea, learning about this tough reality, influenced significantly his decision to take a BA degree in international relations at the University of Westminster, which provided a framework to better understand contemporary events in world politics, challenges in international security and state building.

In 2015, Marvin had the privilege of being recruited for a work experience placement at BBC News School Report. This successful project motivates young students from all around the UK to make and broadcast the stories that matter specifically to them. On Newsday 2015, the work of 1500 schools was linked to the BBC School Report Website and over 400 students had the chance to participate in the event held at Broadcasting House.

The experience at the BBC spurred Marvin to take a Multimedia Journalism MA course (Broadcast) at the University of Westminster starting September 2015. The BJTC accredited course has a strong practical focus and prepares students to become “multi-platform” journalists under the supervision of highly experienced journalism professionals. Marvin developed skills and techniques of multi-media reporting, daily live radio and television news and current affairs; he gained production skills working on TV and Radio packages, holding different roles within the newsroom, coding a basic website and making TV and Radio documentaries.

His final project "I'M OUT TO GET IN", a 15-minute TV documentary on the struggle of LGBTI refugees in the UK, was awarded with a Distinction and even selected as one of the university's entry for the BJTC Awards.

In January 2016, Marvin was recruited for a work experience placement as an Editorial assistant at Prospect magazine, a British magazine, specialising in politics, economics and current affairs, read by key figures in government, journalism, policy making and business. He is currently an intern Broadcast Assistant/Researcher at Share Radio, an award-winning financial radio station on national DAB and online.
